Support Desk Engineer (Westfield, MA)
Description
Integrated IT has an established Internship Program in the Westfield, MA office location as part of the companies’ outreach to the community. IIT selects candidate(s) currently enrolled in college level courses with a concentration in IT hardware, software, general computer information systems or electronic maintenance and repair. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted.
The intern position can be complex and technical in nature, exposing the candidate to various levels of technology, business practices and customer service competencies.
The internship is a temporary position which may end as the incumbent resumes school activities, can continue part-time during the school year or has the potential to lead to a permanent position after graduation.
Direct Relationships:
- Personal work relationships are with the Remote Support Center (RSC) staff and all other IITS departments. The work requires a professional approach with all IITS Clients in all situations while ensuring all information is kept strictly confidential as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide first line and/or second level support to the end users contacting the IIT Call Center
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through email or the IIT Client Portal
- Monitor Help Desk tickets and process requests based on priority and escalate as necessary
- Work on special projects as they arise
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Business or related field
- 12 months or less to Bachelor’s Degree or completion of technical program
- Technical ability to troubleshoot production hardware or software issues
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations, processes, and procedures
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – good technical writing skills a plus
- A+ certification or MCP a plus
