My name is Stephanie Golas and I am the On-Boarding Coordinator for the Home and Community Connections division at the Western Mass Training Consortium. The Western Mass Training Consortium, is a non-profit agency located in Holyoke, Ma. The division is seeking an intern for the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. We are searching for a social media intern for our division.
The Home and Community Connections division provides innovative and individualized support that eliminates barriers and empowers individuals to live the lives they choose. Working with individuals with mental and physical disability’s in their homes and in the community.
We are looking for an intern who has strong communicational skills, marketing, IT experience, and people skills and are able to work as a team with high energy. This intern will be able to gain valuable experience and knowledge of social medial and operationally how a non-profit operates.
Possible intern responsibilities include: research best uses of social media, provide a critical analysis of current uses, survey various audiences to determine what is of most interest, craft and post social media, make recommendations for improvements, serve as member of the Consortium Community Online Team and attend monthly meetings.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of learning organizations and non-profits, administrative and research skills, good communication and teamwork skills, marketing/communications/IT experience and/or education. Previous experience with/exposure to a variety of social media platforms is preferred.
Requirements: Availability 5-10 hours (flexible scheduling, during a typical workweek).
Ability to find transportation to Holyoke (we’re on the PVTA route) *and possibly surrounding sites throughout Western MA
