Director
Junior Delgado presently serves as the Director of the Career Center at Westfield State University (MA) and has been in that role since 2009. Junior is also the The Washington Center Program Coordinator. As a first-generation college graduate and bilingual speaker, (English/Spanish), he has worked in higher education for over 20 years in career services and a short time in Admissions. He has been focused on serving student populations to achieve their goals over the course of his career.
Junior recently completed a year long term as the President of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE): an organization dedicated to connecting career counseling professionals with the employer community. Additionally, over the last ten years he has served as the Executive Chair/President to the Massachusetts Educational Recruiting Consortium (MERC); an organization that facilitates hiring in Education.
Associate Director
Giselle Frechette joined the Westfield State University Career Center in February 2007 and has over 20 years of experience in the field. Giselle is also the Disney College Program Advisor. As a first-generation college graduate, Giselle is committed to helping students navigate college, understand the various career pathways, and make professional connections to reach their personal and professional goals. Her passion is helping students get connected to the right opportunities to find their life’s passion. Assistant Director and Coordinator of Data Management and Alumni Career Services
Dino joined the Career Center in 2010 with over twenty years of career advising and workforce development experience. He manages the data collection, analysis, and reporting process; Professional Networking Nights; the Annual Post Graduate Report, and facilitates other Career Center programming.
Dino also provides career development and graduate school advising, responds to data requests from various schools and departments across the university, and has served on several search committees. He holds STRONG and CDF (Career Development Facilitator) certifications as well as a bachelor’s degree from Western New England University and a Master of Public Administration from Westfield State University.
Career Counselor/Employer Relations
Jennifer joined the Career Center in October of 2013 and brings her experience in human resources, marketing and customer service to serve students and alumni. Jennifer provides career development and graduate school advising. Also, she is responsible for assisting the director of the Career Center with employer relations. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Masters in Public Administration and is a proud alumnus of Westfield State University. She is STRONG Certifed and completed the Career Development Facilitator (CDF) training.
Graduate Assistant
Rachel Gelina is a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in public administration, economics, and business management. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice Administration at Westfield State University, where she also serves as a Graduate Assistant at the Career Center, actively supporting student career development.
Her diverse background spans public relations, event management, and family services, showcasing her adaptability and strong interpersonal skills. Passionate about continuous learning, Rachel promotes career advancement opportunities through platforms like Forage and LinkedIn Learning. She has also completed multiple cybersecurity and project management case studies, strengthening her expertise in risk management and digital security.
With numerous LinkedIn certifications in data analysis, cybersecurity, research foundations, and career skills, Rachel brings a well-rounded skill set to every endeavor. Highly proficient in communication, data analysis, critical thinking, and project management, she is committed to driving organizational success, enhancing public service efficiency, and fostering community development.
Administrative Assistant II
Sharon joined the WSU Career Center in 1999 after 15 years of professional experience in the banking industry. Her contributions to this busy student support service office include program planning and development, marketing, and financial and office management. She enjoys working with students, employers and the University community to help prepare students for successful careers and advanced study.
Clerk IV
Lori joined the Career Center in August 2008 after thirty years in corporate America. Her contributions to the Career Center include posting jobs in Handshake, connecting with employers, managing databases as well as training and supervising student workers to aid in their professional development. She enjoys welcoming students and visitors to the office and discussing Career Center resources. Lori often volunteers at University events to contribute to the overall success of the institution. Lori has completed coursework in Liberal Studies and Legal Secretarial at Fitchburg State University and Springfield Technical Community College. Lori is also pursuing her undergraduate degree.
